Dr. Vineeta Gupta serves as the director leading our work on Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of Vital Strategies. She has over 20 years of tri-sector experience in health projects in more than 21 countries working with diverse stakeholders. Prior to this position, Vineeta held senior positions with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, University Research Co., Global Fund for Children, and Global Campaign on Microbicides. She has collaborated on projects supported by bilateral and multilateral donors such as the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Inter-American Development Bank. Vineeta founded the Stop HIV/AIDS in India Initiative in 2004 to strengthen public health advocacy and increase access to affordable medicines globally. She is a physician and a lawyer with specialization in international human rights law who started her career in India as a medical officer in Punjab. She won public interest litigation in India’s high court to stop torture in police custody, and is a recipient of Rotary Service to Humanity award for her efforts to root out corruption from public life in India.
