Tanya Hurst is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Program Officer at Banyan Global, a women-owned and managed small business and international development consulting firm. At Banyan Global, Ms. Hurst manages a portfolio of USAID-funded programs providing support on women’s economic empowerment and monitoring, evaluation and learning, including the Global Health Supply Chain – Technical Assistance program in South Africa, the Saving Maternity Homes in Ghana Innovate for Health project and the Growth, Enterprise, Employment and Livelihoods (GEEL) project in Somalia. Recently, as apart of her work at Banyan Global, Ms. Hurst provided oversight in the development and implementation of the Somalia GEEL project’s gender analysis and gender integration action plan designed to ensure that women have equitable and meaningful opportunities to participate in, contribute to and benefit from the project’s activities.

Prior to joining Banyan Global, Ms. Hurst provided technical assistance to various donor-funded activities throughout the MENA region supporting women’s economic empowerment and youth workforce development. Additionally, she led a research study exploring the traditional practices of women living in Morocco to spark a dialogue between women refugees and their host community female counterparts in the US.
