Sylvia J. Megret is a senior executive with deep experience leading global development organizations through periods of growth, complexity, and change. She served as President and CEO of ACDI/VOCA from 2022 to 2025, after joining the organization in 2016 and previously serving as President and Chief Operating Officer.

During her tenure, Sylvia oversaw a diverse global portfolio spanning agribusiness and food systems, inclusive markets, financial services, gender and youth, climate resilience, and private‑sector engagement. She led organizational transformation across strategy, operations, and culture, while strengthening business development, partnerships, and financial sustainability. Under her leadership, ACDI/VOCA deepened its engagement with USAID, USDA, MCC, development finance institutions, foundations, and corporate partners, and expanded its technical focus on climate change and sustainability within market‑driven development models.

Sylvia serves on the board executive committee of the Society of International Development’s U.S. Chapter (SID‑US) and was the 2022 SID‑US Conference Chair. She also serves as Advisory Council Chair for the Center of Excellence for Global Food Security and Defense at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

She is recognized for her ability to translate complex development challenges into practical, scalable solutions and currently works as an independent consultant, advising international nonprofits and social‑impact organizations on strategy, growth, and executive leadership.
