Steven Hansch has 35+ years of experience working in the NGO, evaluation, public health and humanitarian assistance sectors.  He has been teaching graduate courses in international aid, health and nutrition at George Washington University's school of public health and GW Department of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering.  He is a former chair of the Monitoring & Evaluation Workgroups at SID-US and InterAction and in recent years has led evaluations of aid response to rural health in Afghanistan, reproductive health in Sudan and Mali, food aid in Ethiopia, Ebola virus control in West Africa, public financial management in Jordan, humanitarian aid in Yemen and food assistance in Haiti.  He has led several evaluations in Somalia and Central Africa.  His specialization is in epidemiology.  He serves on several NGO boards.  He is assisted by his trusty dog, Scout.
