SID-Washington Announces 2020-21 Board of Directors 

Washington, DC – The Society for International Development – Washington Chapter (SID-Washington) announced today its 2020-21 Board of Directors, including a new executive committee and seven new members.  

Wade Warren, Chief Strategy Officer for International Development, Deloitte, and former Acting USAID Administrator, was elected to the position of Board Chair for a three-year term beginning this month. In addition, Anne Simmons-Benton was elected to the position of Deputy Chair, also for a three-year term. Mr. Warren and Ms. Simmons-Benton join returning officers Mark Johnson as Treasurer and John Glover as Vice President for Programming, along with Demetria Arvanitis, newly elected as Secretary.  

New to the board this term are Amina Ferati, President, International Advisory Products and Systems (i-APS); Chizi Igwe, Associate Consultant, Dalberg Advisors; Bobby Jefferson, Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, Global Health, DAI; Tjada D’Oyen McKenna, CEO of Mercy Corps; Leslie Ruyle, Assistant Director, Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at The Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M; Christopher Scott, Executive Vice President at Chemonics; and Marshall Stowell, Vice President, Partnerships, Advocacy and Communications, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. 

“We are particularly excited about the composition of our board this year,” said SID-Washington Board Chair Wade Warren. “We believe we have a diverse team with a range of expertise that can help guide us through the next few years as we focus on expanding SID-Washington’s reach beyond the DC area and addressing issues of social justice and racial equity in our sector.” 

“I am looking forward to working with all of our board directors as we navigate a number of challenges and adapt to a new way of delivering our programming,” added Katherine Raphaelson, President of SID-Washington. 

The 2020-21 Executive Committee is as follows:
