SID-Washington’s Series on Navigating the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus
With the number of global crises rising, the development and humanitarian community continues to adapt its response and look for new strategies to address the needs of those affected before, during, and after a crisis. Although the Humanitarian-Development-Peace nexus is not a new concept, it is one that becomes increasingly more complex with climate change and protracted conflicts.
SID-Washington announces this new series that will take a look at how the community is tackling this nexus and address those affected by crises. We will announce new chapter, institutional member, special, and workgroup events to help promote a dialogue and foster partnerships among the community. Events in this series include:
- A Democracy, Rights, & Governance Workgroup event on September 18, 2019 regarding the political participation of refugees.
- A chapter event on November 21, 2019 to provide an introduction to the nexus and what it means for development actors.
- Please stay tuned as we announce more events!
