Sandra Whitehead, Program Director for the National Environmental Health Association(NEHA) and an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University’s College of Professional Studies, Department of Planning, prior to joining NEHA, Sandra was the Senior Director of Community Health Promotion at the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) where she led the Healthy Community Design and Chronic Disease team. Sandra'swork involves providing technical assistance and support to local health departments on Health in All Policies, Health Impact Assessment, and upstream interventions to address chronic disease. Prior to joining NACCHO, Sandra worked at the Florida Department of Health where she worked across sectors on the State Health Improvement Plan in issues such as Complete Streets, Safe Routes to School, food systems policy and community redevelopment.
