Richard Parker is the Vice President of External Affairs at PCI. He leads efforts to tell the story of PCI’s extraordinary work in 18 countries around the world, managing the organization’s global brand, marketing strategies, media relationships, online presence, and advocacy and government relations efforts. Mr. Parker came to PCI from the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition where he served as Director of Communications, working with top NGOs and Fortune 500 Companies to educate Americans about the importance of global development. He joined the USGLC after serving as Director of Communications for the Peace Corps. At the Peace Corps, Mr. Parker oversaw the creative, digital, marketing, press, and video production offices within agency. Prior to his time at the Peace Corps, Mr. Parker worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He has also worked in communications and marketing with the American Red Cross and Levi Strauss & Co. Mr. Parker holds a Master’s degree in public policy from Regent University and a Bachelor’s degree in business management from North Carolina State University.
