An economist at Nathan Associates, Pooja Pokhrel has deep experience in applied economic development with several policy research papers to her credit. Ms. Pokhrel has developed concept notes and policy papers on best practices and impact of increased domestic resource mobilization on developing economies. For instance, she co-authored a paper that looks at the relationship between domestic resource mobilization and spending in social sectors such as health. She has recently led the development of a comprehensive database of tax performance and administration indicators for over 200 countries spanning a period of 2000 to 2015. On behalf of Nathan Associates, Ms. Pokhrel also served as a manager of Nathan’s portfolio of projects totaling over $60 million under USAID’s Public Financial Management contracting vehicle. Ms. Pokhrel has previously worked for the United Nations Development Programme and the Asian Development Bank, and has regional experience in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. She holds a M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University.
