Nebil is the Managing Director of Enterprise Partners, a DfID-funded programme which: (a) is supporting the development of light manufacturing sectors to transform the Ethiopian economy from agriculture to industry, and; (b) is developing the financial sector to play a greater role in financing economic growth.
As MD, Nebil is responsible for delivering the programme’s results by leading a team of 50 to develop strategies, manage interventions and scale successful solutions through the Making Markets Work approach.
Coming from a background as an investment analyst in the UK, Nebil moved back to Ethiopia in 2005, establishing First Consult to become the leading consultancy in Ethiopia within 5 years. Working across the economic development, financial sector development and business strategy spheres and employing over a hundred people in the process, Nebil has since worked for McKinsey & Co. and has authored books on business and economic development, notably the Enterprise Map of Ethiopia. He also serves on the advisory boards of various institutions.
