Special Olympics
Meghan and her team work with the seven global Special Olympics regions to advance the use of inclusive sport and leadership development to build mindsets of inclusion in youth around the world. In her role, Meghan is primarily responsible for growing partnerships with governments, NGOs, and research institutions to promote inclusive development in the education and youth sectors. Special Olympics has been an important part of Meghan’s life since childhood. Her younger sister is a Special Olympics athlete and her mother is the Special Olympics local coordinator/head coach in her hometown of Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Prior to joining Special Olympics, Meghan worked with local organizations supporting children and youth with intellectual disabilities in East Africa and Eastern Europe with Mosaic International, first as a Fellow in Tanzania and then as International Field Director. She also researched education and vocational training programs for youth with autism in China as a Fulbright student scholar. Meghan holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science from University of Pennsylvania and MSc in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin, where she was a Mitchell Scholar. She is based in Washington DC.
