Madeline Rose is the Senior Policy Advisor for Mercy Corps, a global humanitarian and development agency headquartered in Portland, OR. She provides policy analysis and leads advocacy campaigns on peace and conflict policy, including counter-terrorism, countering violent extremism, peacebuilding and resilience building in fragile states; positive youth development; good governance; and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to Mercy Corps, Madeline was the lead lobbyist for the Peaceful Prevention of Deadly Conflict program at the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). Madeline is a New Leaders Fellow with the Center for Progressive Leadership, a Steering Committee Member for the Harvard Law School Counter-Terrorism and Humanitarian Engagement project, and an Organizing & Advocacy Trainer with Wellstone Action. She has testified before the U.S. Congress; worked in the U.S. Congress and at the United Nations; and served with community-based organizations in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Madeline graduated from Occidental College (Los Angeles, CA) with a B.A. in Diplomacy & World Affairs.
