USAID defines Locally Led Development as “the process in which local actors – encompassing individuals, communities, networks, organizations, private entities, and governments – set their own agendas, develop solutions, and bring the capacity, leadership, and resources to make those solutions a reality.” How can the SID-United States community continue to help move towards sustainable development by working with local actors? What has worked, what are challenges to overcome, and what does this initiative mean for nonlocal partners? This series explored what “locally led” means and how to achieve it through a variety of programs.
