Based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kevin currently serves as the Perennial Agriculture Component/Sector Lead for ELAN RDC—a £50m UK Department for International Development (DFID) market systems change and private sector development program.
Prior to working w/ Adam Smith International (ASI) in DRC, Kevin maintained an independent advisory practice, which primarily focused on agricultural value chain development, human and institutional capacity building, ethical sourcing, financial inclusion, gender mainstreaming, and youth programming. In this capacity, Kevin serviced a range of clients, some of which included: ACDI/VOCA, Agrivi, Azmera Market, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Garmin International, Lutheran World Relief (LWR), Partners for Development (PfD), Symrise, Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA), World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), and Zico Beverages.
Wilkins is a Marine veteran, former presidential appointee, and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV-Senegal) with over 15 years of public, private, and nonprofit strategy, business development, marketing, communications, program design and delivery experience.
Proficient in Fulani and French, he has managed private sector and donor-funded programs in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia, led cross-functional teams, and crafted and directly overseen annual budgets in excess of $15MM.
He has lived and worked in Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, and Tanzania, and has program design and delivery experience in Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, and Mali.
Independently, Kevin co-chairs the Society for International Development's Corporate Role in Development Workgroup, is a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and is affiliated with several international development and military veterans associations.
