Kate Thompson is a Principal with Deloitte Consulting and a strategic advisor to government leaders, business leaders, social change agents and donor organizations working in developing countries, emerging economies and countries transitioning out of conflict. Ms. Thompson draws on diverse domains of expertise, donor funding, partnerships and alliances to implement a portfolio of international development programs dedicated to accelerating inclusive economic growth, creating resilient communities, empowering women, employing youth and scaling entrepreneurship.

Ms. Thompson’s successful leadership of large, complex technical assistance programs helped establish systems of economic governance and private sector competitiveness at a scale great enough to drive inclusive economic growth in countries like South Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo. The success of these programs and others were in large measure, predicated on her deep understanding of how multi-disciplinary interventions can be designed and implemented to achieve tangible results, even in the most challenging operating environments. Still, believing that the present offers even greater opportunities to improve the lives and livelihoods of the global poor, Ms. Thompson joins a small cadre of pioneers from around the world who are designing, testing and iterating catalytic approaches to development using technology, innovation, partnerships and local systems that can empower the people and leaders of poor and emerging countries to solve their own, most pressing challenges.

Ms. Thompson has lived and worked in over 35 countries. She holds a BS in Anthropology from the University of Arizona, a MBA from Pepperdine University, and a MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
