JeDene Reeder, Ed.D, is a literacy consultant with SIL International. Prior to working with SIL, she taught elementary school. She has since worked first as a literacy specialist in the Pagibete language project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, then as literacy coordinator (1999-2004) and literacy consultant (1999 to present) in Togo and Benin.
She obtained her Ed.D in 2011 from Simon Fraser University and her M.A. in linguistics in 1998 from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has taught at the University of North Dakota and at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics as well as the Institute of Development of Languages and Translation in Africa (i-DELTA) in Burkina Faso, and guest-lectured at the Canadian Institute of Linguistics, GIAL, and Lincoln Christian University.
