Janet Shriberg is a Senior Technical Advisor, Child Protection and Well-Being in the Education for Development Division at Creative Associates International. In this role she provides technical expertise to support projects, including design and implementation activities that expand access to safe and healthy learning environments for vulnerable and/or marginalized children and youth. Prior to this position, Janet served as Evaluation Specialist for the U.S. government -wide Let Girls Learn initiative at Peace Corps. From 2010-2015 she was the Senior Evaluation Advisor for the PEPFAR Orphans and Vulnerable Children program at the Office of HIV/AIDS at USAID and from 2007-2010 she was an assistant professor in the International Disaster Psychology program at the University of Denver. Janet has worked worldwide for over twenty years with diverse development and humanitarian organizations providing consultation to programs addressing education, psychosocial wellbeing, evaluation and research. Her specific areas of expertise are in child and family wellbeing, caregiver support and quality education in situations of crisis and post-conflict development. Janet holds dual master’s degrees in public health from Johns Hopkins University and counseling psychology from Northeastern University and in 2008, she earned a doctorate in international educational development from Columbia University, Teachers College.
