Greg Gisvold is a senior rule of law and anticorruption professional with two decades of experience in complex governance challenges. Mr. Gisvold has an extensive track record managing and providing technical assistance for programs funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and UK Department for International Development (DFID). His work focuses on judicial and legal institutional reform, government service delivery, accountability mechanisms, and public participation in policy dialogue.
Mr. Gisvold has served in leadership positions on security, justice and anticorruption issues for a number of development firms, where he designed, led, and managed rule of law, anticorruption, and security sector reform programs in more than 15 countries. He was most recently Director, Rule of Law and Governance at Democracy International and Global Practice Lead, Security and Justice for DAI. As a Partner for BlueLaw International, Mr. Gisvold oversaw a growing portfolio of rule of law, anti-corruption, and police reform programs for Department of State and USAID. As Team Leader for INL’s Program Support Unit, he spearheaded development of technical leadership tools for USAID and technical program guidance for the Department of State. He drafted INL’s program guidance on anticorruption and the USAID/State Maritime Security Sector Matrix. As a Director for Chemonics International, Mr. Gisvold led numerous and diverse successful rule of law and anticorruption projects in West Bank and Gaza, Russia, and Egypt; security sector reform in West Bank and Gaza; commercial law reform in Bosnia; and numerous other legal, public administration, anti- corruption, and democracy programs.
