Elise brings over 30 years of development experience to SI’s growing portfolio. An expert in organizational development, strategic planning, performance management and training, she has worked for USAID, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, CARE, the Panos Institute, Duke University, PBS Television, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and IBM. At Social Impact, Elise manages capacity-building, strategy, and training programs designed to increase organizational effectiveness through participatory design, rigorous project management, and clear performance metrics.
Prior to joining SI, Elise was a strategy practitioner and Service Area Manager at IBM Global Business Services on the USAID/Department of State Account, where she managed the Integrated Managing for Results (IMR) and Program/Project Management Training (PPMT) portfolios. She led IMR and PPMT strategic planning, performance management, and training engagements in over 30 USAID missions and headquarters, helping to stand up new bureaus and develop strategic plans and frameworks. On PPMT, Elise trained hundreds of USAID, Department of State, Millennium Challenge Corporation, and Centers for Disease Control staff and consulted for the Office of the Director of Foreign Assistance (State/F). A skilled facilitator and management consultant, Elise has designed and managed dozens of planning and consultative meetings to help clients identify solutions to program and operations challenges. While at IBM, Elise also developed curricula on consulting in emerging markets for the IBM Corporate Service Corps (CSC) and served with CSC in Vietnam.
As a USAID Direct Hire, Elise served in the Bureau for Humanitarian Response Office of Private and Voluntary Cooperation, where she helped develop capacity-building approaches and assessment tools, managed the Biden-Pell Grants Program and was Director of the Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid. She concluded her USAID service in the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs, helping to broker collaboration with USAID implementing partners.
