Doug McLean joined DAI in 1992 and has spent the last 24 years involved in designing and managing field based and home office projects, managing a DAI subsidiary, and expanding DAI services to new clients in regional markets. Most recently, Mr. McLean designed and launched DAI's Innovation into Action Challenge that attracted 296 applicants from 49 countries. Partnering with USAID, the Global Accelerator Network (GAN) and Montgomery County, Md, the challenge recently awarded four prizes (including cash, mentoring and field test on a DAI project) to organization in health, energy and workforce development. His technical area of focus involves the design and management of DAI programs related to innovation, acceleration and ecosystem development in emerging countries. Mr. McLean has been directly involved in management of four USAID long term economic growth projects, three field based and one centrally funded. He has designed and managed both enterprise growth projects and programs designed to strengthen small and micro financial services in countries throughout the world. In his spare time, he enjoys golf and taking pictures of Lincoln statues.
