Every election brings potential change that affects the international development community through new administration leadership, House and Senate control, and more. The weeks before and after an election are often marked by anxiety over possible policy shifts, funding cuts, and personnel changes at agencies such as USAID.
We have weathered these changes before and SID-US has found it helpful to convene our members to hear from leaders who have navigated through a post-election transition in the past. Please join us for an in-person, off-the-record conversation with two former USAID Acting Administrators, SID-US Board Chair Wade Warren and SID-US Board Member Gloria Steele on Tuesday, October 29th from 10:00 - 11:30 AM ET in the SID-US office at 2300 N Street, NW, Suite 350, Washington, DC 20037.
Wade served as Acting USAID Administrator at the beginning of the Trump Administration, from January-August 2017, and Gloria served as Acting USAID Administrator at the beginning of the Biden Administration, from January-April 2021. Together, they will talk about leadership changes, possible policy changes and implications for international development, the transition process and their personal experiences in their respective transition roles.
This event is open to SID-US Institutional Members only. Each Institutional Member organization may send up to two representatives to this event.
Registration will close at 3:00 PM ET on Monday, October 28.
