Digital technologies cut across every development sector, geography, and demographic. Recognizing this, USAID launched the Agency's first Digital Strategy in 2020. The Strategy charted a USAID-wide vision for development and humanitarian assistance in the world's rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Building off the success of the Strategy, USAID is transitioning to a Digital Policy that will govern the next ten years of digital development at USAID. The Digital Policy will allow the Agency to define an evergreen approach to USAID investments in digital technologies and technology-enabled programming by improving impact and mitigating risk. It is key that the new Digital Policy is shaped by the priorities, experiences, and insights of the broader digital development community.

During this interactive workshop, USAID will present components of the draft Digital Policy and participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback in small group breakouts. Discussions will be oriented around questions such as:

  • Does this resonate with your work, why or why not and is anything missing?
  • What would you expect to see in a donor digital policy and does this meet your expectations?
  • How do you see this being applicable to your work now, in five years, in ten years?

Registration will close at 4 PM ET on June 3, 2024. Meeting details will be sent to all registered participants shortly thereafter.
