Mr. Tsentas is the lead attorney at USAID responsible for advising the Office of Food for Peace and provides supplementary legal support to the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance - both within the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance.  In addition, Mr. Tsentas provides assistance and advice in support of the work of the Administrator’s Action Alliance for Preventing Sexual Misconduct.

Prior to joining USAID in 2015, Mr. Tsentas served as a Congressional aide for over 9 years, where he worked on the initial creation and re-authorization of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) (P.L 108-25 & P.L. 110-293), the Assistance for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Developing Countries Act (P.L. 109-95), and the Sudan Accountability and Divestment Act (P.L. 110-174), and gained authorization and appropriations experience on a range of other issues relevant to USAID programs. Mr. Tsentas attended law school at Northeastern University School of Law in Boston and received his JD concurrently with an MPH from Tufts University School of Medicine. He also holds a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley.
