Arvil Gonzalez is a Foreign Service Officer specializing in natural resources and sustainable development. He previously served at the USAID Mission in Senegal where he oversaw the water, sanitation, and hygiene and marine fisheries portfolios and worked extensively with the Embassy’s interagency country team. He also served with the Center for Water Security, Sanitation and Hygiene in the Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, and the Energy and Infrastructure Office of what is now the Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation. He currently also serves as climate lead for the USAID’s Innovation, Technology, and Research Hub’s implementation of USAID’s new Climate Strategy, and co-chairs the U.S. government’s new Insect Protein Working Group with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He holds master’s degrees in International Affairs and in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development.
