Ann Norris currently serves as Senior Advisor to the United States Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, Catherine Russell, with a particular focus on girl’s education, health, gender-based violence and promoting gender within multilateral organizations. She is also responsible for advising the Ambassador on gender issues in Afghanistan and the Asia-Pacific region.
Previously, Ms. Norris served as Senior Foreign Policy and Defense Advisor to United States Senator Barbara Boxer. In that role, Ms. Norris handled all issues relating to Senator Boxer’s responsibilities as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (SFRC) and served as Staff Director for the Subcommittee on International Operations and Organizations, Human Rights, Democracy, and Global Women’s Issues. Ms. Norris is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds a Masters of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.
