Working with The Borneo Initiative since March 2014, Alex Gama is responsible for linking Indonesian concessions/industries to USA importers by promoting Indonesian timber products, such as plywood, decking, TG4 flooring, truck flooring and veneers. Alex started his career in 1988 working for a British/Brazilian paper importer company – SAMAB. In 1991, he started working in the timber sector mainly sourcing, grading and managing supply for US and European companies throughout South America. In 2009, Alex started his own trading company in Northern Brazil which was sold in 2013 to a Dutch holding. Alex has a degree in Business from The Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC RJ.
