Dr. Emily Springer, named one of 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics™ in 2024, is an algorithmic literacy and inclusive AI consultant. She currently serves as the Feminist AI consultant for UNFPA's tech-facilitated gender-based violence (TF GBV) team and the Global Center for Gender Equality. Leading TechnoSocio Advisory, she specializes in upskilling non-technical practitioners for AI involvement, facilitating AI strategy and risk mitigation discussions, and offering inclusive AI advisory services for projects. Previously, she developed a digital inclusion toolkit with Athena Infonomics, consulted on strategy for African universities through IFC/Deloitte's Digital for Tertiary Education Program, conducted a qualitative study on digital extension services in Ethiopia with the World Bank Africa Gender Innovation Lab, and worked as a business analyst at a Microsoft partner. Trained as an interdisciplinary sociologist, she has instructed and mentored masters students in three Development Practice and Social Justice graduate programs.
