Caroline Ferraz Ignacio, PhD has more than 10 years of experience using research to promote people-centered and equitable social programming. Since 2021 she has been the Gender and Inclusive Development Advisor for USAID/Colombia. Before joining USAID, she worked as a consultant supporting the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of social programs in Latin America and Europe, specifically, as an expert in masculinities and gender equity. Caroline holds a BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a PhD from the Tropical Medicine Program at Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/ Fiocruz), where her research focused on incorporating the social determinants of health into people-centered primary healthcare services in high-conflict urban communities of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
