Beverley Hatcher-Mbu is an international lawyer with experience in program implementation, client management, policy analysis, and data governance. In her role as a Deputy Director for Development Gateway: An IREX Venture (DG), Beverley oversees part of the programs team, manages multi-country programs, and leads DG’s internal agriculture working group. She also provides data privacy and governance support to projects and programs requiring policies, management plans, and other documentation to codify good practices across DG.
Previously she worked for the World Bank Group as a legal consultant where she helped develop a web-based legal analysis tool to assist users in analyzing and comparing African mining laws and also provided broader legal advisory services and negotiation support to the Transport, Digital Development and Development Finance teams at the World Bank. She also has experience working in advocacy and communications for Save the Children International at the African Union level and in the East Africa region. Ms. Hatcher-Mbu has worked in 9 countries and speaks English and French. She holds a Juris Doctor from George Washington University and a BA cum laude in Political Science from Wellesley College. She is admitted to the bar in New York.
