Abighail joined SID-US in January 2025 as a Program Associate, supporting initiatives in event planning, communications, and outreach. Her personal journey as a refugee from Eritrea, growing up in Kenya before moving to the United States, has profoundly shaped her commitment to fostering equitable and sustainable solutions for marginalized communities. 
With a Master’s in International Development from Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals and dual Bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Political Science from Colorado State University, she brings experience in refugee resettlement, program coordination, and community engagement. Fluent in English, Spanish, Swahili, and Tigrinya, she values collaboration and dialogue as essential tools for meaningful change in international development. She is excited to contribute to SID-US’s mission while gaining valuable experience in the field.
