About the 2023 Annual Dinner

In 2023, we were delighted to honor Governor David Beasley, recently retired Executive Director of the World Food Programme, with our Award for Outstanding Leadership in International Development. Governor Beasley has contributed in an exceptional way to international development through his leadership at the World Food Programme, raising $55 billion during his tenure, and helping to combat not just famine and starvation, but also mass migration and destabilization in a number of regions. Read more about Governor Beasley here.

We also presented our Rice Award to an exceptional young professional in international development, Neema Ayoub Magimba. Read more about the Rice Award here

As food insecurity remains one of the most pressing concerns in international development, a percentage of our 2023 Annual Dinner proceeds was donated to the World Central Kitchen and the World Food Programme.
