Mr. Kebur Azbaha is a UK diplomat working at the British Embassy Washington DC, as the Development Counsellor, heading the US development, humanitarian, human rights and multilateral policy team. He has extensive experience of international relations, trade, economic, humanitarian and development policy work in China, Malaysia/ASEAN, Afghanistan, several African countries, and multilateral organisations in Switzerland. 


In his diplomatic and development experience, he held leadership and management roles, covering a wide range of issues such as economic reform, private sector development, multilateral reform, development finance, trade policy and negotiations. Previously he worked as the Economic Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission in Malaysia, covering ASEAN too. Before that he worked in central government in Whitehall London on high profile G7/G20 economic and development policy and initiatives including on education, innovative finance for infrastructure and health, and global value chains. He represented the UK at the World Trade Organisation and other multilateral agencies in Geneva. Led UK humanitarian, de-mining and post conflict reconstruction in Afghanistan, and promoted sustainable state-owned enterprise reform in China. 


Kebur has a BA Honours degree in Politics and History, and an MSc in Public Policy and Management from the University of London.
