SID-US is seeking an Annual Conference Intern to join our team during the month of June and help deliver our Annual Conference. This short-term, hybrid, unpaid opportunity is ideal for current students or recent graduates interested in international development, events, and nonprofit operations. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting a major professional conference, receive a complimentary SID-US membership, and have valuable opportunities to network with leaders and practitioners in the field. Qualifications
- Academic and/or work experience in international development; international relations; communications and/or event planning preferred
- Ability to solve problems creatively, pay meticulous attention to detail, and work well on a small team
- Possess initiative and the ability to work independently, while also being receptive to direction
- Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and retain an optimistic outlook under pressure
- Strong commitment to international development
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with social media management, including scheduling and planning platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CiviCRM, and HTML a plus
- Ability to work with consideration towards course scheduling. Ideally available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Experience in planning of conferences and meetings is a plus (not required)
